Frequently Asked Questions

Relational Healing Is Systemic Work.jpg

Is this therapy?

No. Consultation is a professional service focused on business strategy, leadership, and practice development. While Kate is a licensed therapist and brings that lens to her work, consultation sessions are not therapy and do not constitute a therapeutic relationship. If you are looking for a therapist, Kate is happy to provide referrals.

Do I have to be a therapist to work with Kate?

Not at all. While many of Kate's clients are therapists or mental health professionals, her expertise in values-based leadership, employment practices, equitable culture, and sustainable systems translates well to other service-oriented businesses. If you're curious whether this is a good fit, reach out — she loves a good conversation.

How does async support work?

Between sessions, you can reach Kate via email or short video message with questions, documents to review, or updates you want feedback on. She commits to responding within 3 business days. This isn't a crisis line — it's a way to keep momentum between your scheduled sessions.

Is this clinical supervision?

No. While Kate is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, consultation is not clinical supervision and does not count toward licensure hours. These sessions focus on the business and operational side of running a practice. If you are looking for clinical supervision, Kate can point you toward appropriate resources.

What if I'm not sure which package is right for me?

Start with the À La Carte session. It's a low-commitment way to experience consultation, get immediate value, and figure out whether ongoing support makes sense for you. Many clients use their first session to map out exactly what they need.

What does a typical session look like?

Sessions are conversational and collaborative. You bring the agenda — a challenge, a decision, a system you're trying to build — and Kate brings her expertise, curiosity, and a whole lot of practical experience. Most clients leave with at least one concrete tool, resource, or next step.
